The Darke Academy is a school like no other. An elite establishment that moves to an exotic new city every term, its students are impossibly beautiful, sophisticated and rich. And the more new scholarship girl Cassie Bell learns about the Academy, the more curious she becomes. What sinister secrets are guarded by the Few -- the select group of students who keep outsiders away? Who is the dark stranger prowling the corridors at night? And what really happened a year earlier, when the last scholarship girl died in mysterious circumstances? One thing Cassie will discover is that a little knowledge may be a dangerous thing, but knowing too much can be deadly...

I know this blog has been sort of dead in a few months. The reason is that I’m lazy but now I thought I should try to do something about it and try to write more often her – despite my bad English.

Lately I’ve been in love with a new vampire/demonic bookseries called Darke Academy and I’m surprised that it seems not many has read it yet. I can’t remember to find a single bookblog writing about it and that is kind of sad ‘cause this is the first bookseries I’ve been addicted to since the Goosebumps books by R.L Stine and that’s a long time ago.

I’m not a fan of Stephenie Meyer, Twilight and the typical modern vampires that sparkle in the sun (what the hell has happened with the vampires the past few years? I mean when did their eyes start to sparkle in the sun? I thought they died if they even stepped out in the sun. Oh well, maybe it’s just me being old fashioned…) So, after reading the first Twilight book I got fed up with all the vampirecrap from the modern days and thought I should give it a break and read other books instead – which I dead. And then at the bookstore one day I saw some really cool bookcovers that really made me curious. It made me so curious that I even bought two of them. It’s published three books of the series so far.

And to my surprise I fell in love with these books because they are sort of different than other vampire/demon series that are published. It’s something fresh about it and these books really got my attention while I was reading them. Now, I haven’t read book 3 yet but I have it on my shelf but I have read two of them.
What I love about this series is that it’s different in many ways. Even though the characters in the books have some paranormal powers they seem very down to earth and very human. It’s easy to relate to them and some situations they are going through. And for the first time I don’t find the central role annoying. I actually adore the person, Cassie. I think she is amazing in many ways. She cares about her friends and the relationship between her and Isabella (her roommate) is very funny. I love their quick replies. And Sir Alric Darke is also a fave character. The principal or whatever I should call him. He’s mysterious and he actually cares about his students.

The cool thing about this school is that it moves around the world. This time they are in Paris, and next term in New York. Pretty cool, huh? Wish we had a school like that. A school that moves around in different countries. It would be amazing and fun. But impossible, of course. Oh well. I can dream, can't I?

So, I can’t wait to read book number three. There’s a rumour that the author of this series has written book number four already but it’s not decided if it’s gonna be published or not. I hope so. That’s why I’m waiting a bit to read the third book ‘cause I don’t want this series to end! So, I hope it will get more fans ‘cause it’s really worth a read!!!
I will write about book number two in the next post. And I hope this series will get a lot more readers 'cause it desverses it!!!!
PS: In the end of the book there's a sneak preview of book number two: "Blood Ties".
