On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It's also an event that you can join in with too - Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own 'On My Wishlist' post. If you want to know more click here.
Trick or treat by Richie Tankersley Cusick
(Goodreads)
Martha knew there was something evil about the house she was moving into. It was so cold...and creepy. And it wasn't just the house that was giving her a weird feeling. Martha was sure someone was following her...watching her every move.
Then the practical jokes began--the scarecrow with the carving knife in its head, the fire. And the phone calls: 'Trick or Treat, Martha...you're dead.'
It was October, but these were no Halloween tricks. Someone would be coming home this year with more than just a bag of treats. And Martha was the prize.
Random Thoughts
Earlier this year, I came across this audio book on youtube and even though I found the story very cheesy and all that, I must say that I thought it was full of atmosphere, suspense and great characters as well. I never read the Point Horror books. I don't know why and of course I had heard about them but at that time I think I was too caught up in Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine. A series I was a huge fan of and I still have all the books. Just love them and I feel like I never get too old to read them again once in a while.
But when I came across this audio book I would absolutely love to read the book itself someday. It would be fun!! Cheesy story but it's so full of suspense and I love suspense!
Well, it's the only book I could think of this week:)
I haven't read point horrors in years! I use to love them thou! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of the book before. I personally have never been able to do the audio books. For some reason the other person's voice messes up the story in my head.

haha I love it when I see people mention Point Horror books! I loved them when I was younger!
ReplyDeleteJules: Wish I read the Point Horror books.
ReplyDeleteKristin: I don't like audio books much either but this was not a pure audio book but more like theatrical, you know, almost listening to a movie. Not someone reading from the books but voices who's acting with sound effects. I like thos audio books better and this version was like that.
Raimy-rawr: I've heard a lot about Point Horror. Wish I could get them and read them when they were popular :)
My total wishlist stands at 854 books, an increase of 13 books since last week. My featured wish is After the Party by Lisa Jewell. Come see why.
ReplyDeleteWow. You want a lot of books:)
